Have seen a few female Mountain Grasshoppers moving about in the past couple of days and today found one at the wood heap and managed to get a shot. It was very active and was not going to show the defensive display, just intent on getting to wherever it was going.
Hi Ian
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have found this.
It is really a Katydid, but the scientific name you have for it is correct.
Great shot on the other post of it doing the display.
Lucky you.
Denis
Thanks Denis, we usually see them a few times a during a year and I can still recall the first time and being amazed at such a weird looking insect that walks and hops through life. Then to only see the fantastic hidden colours when it is threatened.
